I've bought a refurbished one from Amazon and its working very well, (about a week of operation, I didn't seen yet any BSOD), to me is a very fast and reliable computer, I've installed a second Hard Drive (1 TB) and a Blue Ray Drive (Asus) and all is working Fine (i've to install a especific software to read blu-rays ->Power DVD 10), bought a Corsair PSU (HX650) but not installed yet, i've made several test's and the maximum power the computer demand was below 300 W (read at the AC main plug) even playing a HD film (1920 x 1080), and since the original power supply is for 450 W i think its not necessary to change the PSU, the CPU temperatura (i use Realtemp) was always below 60ºC with the original Intel Heatsink ( i don't play games in it... and a can't load the 4 cores at 100 %) my ambient temperature is about 30ºC.
Sorry for my poor english (i live in Brasil)

I bought this computer with good intent. I've had HP products for a while now, and while I've made my own before I will always get HP products. I had a laptop that lasted 7 years, 3 deployments to Iraq and is still kicking! This system here is a great bang for the buck, and you would be hard pressed to find all the same specs in another system for less. I've yet to have a problem with this PC for anything. I'm an avid gamer and love the fluid high-intensity graphics the Nvidia GTX 260 gives. All in all I would keep this product and recommend it to others.

Update 4-26-10:
Since talking to HP and them sending prepaid box to return for service to replace the outdated MB, the BSOD issues have inexplicably slowed. Only had 1 BSOD since my original post. Shouldn't have any, but livable and not worth the hassle of sending the unit in for repair and having to set up my old unit and then swap back. Value for money, this refurb is outstanding - selling at huge discount to new price - would have a hard time buying the parts and software for several hundred more than the refurb is selling for.
I bought a "refurbished" HP Pavilion Elite e9290f - came nicely packaged - unit looked like new except came in a HP box marked "refurbished". As such, I felt I had indeed purchased a "factory refurb" unit in which the BSOD issues in this "Elite" series were resolved - unfortunately, they aren't in my unit and I have to return it.
In the week I've owned it, it has BSOD'd 4 or 5 times. While it quickly rebooted, several times the shut down wasn't complete and weird things happened (like my mail server downloading all my emails so I had duplicates). In the 4-5 years I owned my XP unit, I don't think I encountered that many BSOD, let alone in one week. It appears to be related to video applications in this unit, but not always. As such, difficult to diagnose the real problem.
Other than the annoying BSOD, the unit is quiet, significantly faster than my older HP with XP (although both nominally have similar speed processors) and video performance is excellent. Page loading is faster on my browsers and all applications run/open faster even with multiple applications open. That said, open card slots are limited (just one or two), I'd prefer more USB outlets in the front of the unit, and more legacy ports to plug in my older peripherals (like my fav wireless Logitech Wave keyboard and mouse which came with ps/2 connectors).
I'd buy this again if the BSOD issues were resolved. That said, I don't trust this particular series and will likely pony up $ for the newer comparable "Elite" that has already supplanted this model.
As such, solely due to BSOD issues, this gets a one star. If it didn't, it deserves a 4.5 (half star for less than expected upgradability and lack of legacy connectors)
