I am now on my third hard drive with this computer. I purchased it in nov 2008. The first hard drive was replaced quickly by HP, the second one I had to pitch a fit about. The third one has been installed for about a month and I am already getting hard disk errors. Do not buy this computer!! I lost a lot of time and money over the hard drive issues and now I don't trust it enough to store anything on it. I am going to give it to my five year old for games.

New HP computer is great, fast, very quiet. Arrived in good shape and read to go without issues. A note- despite selecting "normal" shipping, I recieved the package barely 48 hours after ordering!

Upon the demise of my four year old single core HP laptop that had served me well I searched for a desk top that would meet my needs. I reviewed Consumer Reports, CNET and other on line reviews of computers. I also looked into many types of processors. Once I found my processor I found the computer that used it and went from there. Long story short I came to the conclusion that this HP with the Core I3 processor was the one for me.
Everything set up easily and has been working very well for about a month now. I am pleased with the size of the hard drive, processor performance and Windows 7 is good too. There are no negatives at all to date.
After shopping around the electronic box stores I determined that there was nothing gained by purchasing from any of them thus I used Amazon and shaved a few bucks off the price.
You might do better with another computer somewhere but for the money I would recommend this one to a best friend.

I received this computer 3 days ago and I still can't get it up and running! It comes with no phone modem, so I had to buy one--only for it not to fit, so I had to use an old one I had in one of my old computers. It has no place to plug in a different keyboard, only has 4 usb plugs in the back. So, there went my keyboard that I wanted to use. It comes with very limited instructions on Windows 7--can't figure out how to set up my email account to work with the internet explorer. It took me 2.5 days just to access the internet, in a round about fashion. This computer is slow--or it's defective--I don't know which one. I now have to do my online stuff on this stupid laptop that runs XP. I love the XP but hate using a laptop. I'm angry with this computer and want it to go away. Wonder if I can return it to AMazon??

I love the fact that this computer has speed, and Windows 7 is much better that Vista, but I spent almost 3 days attempting to back up my files and I still haven't been able to do this in Windows 7 Backup and Restore. I must now send the computer back to Amazon and hope that the replacement is better. Also, I believe that Windows/Microsoft should be more supportive and helpful to those of us who purchase computers installed with their operating systems. A customter service Rep from Microsoft tried to charge me $59 for tech support when I told her about the problem simply becasue Windows 7 was pre-installed on the computer. I have had this computer for exactly 5 days today.
