I read a few reviews about the incompatibility with itunes. I would just like to say that I've ran itunes and synced multiple devices with this computer and have not had any problems. When you DL Itunes, make sure to get the x64 bit version.
I recommend this computer wholeheartedly, its a great deal for the price.

I bought this PC not because I worked for HP 21 years ago, but because it was a reasonable deal at Fry's 2 months ago ($479). It was not the absolutely lowest price (some got it at $450 from Staples), but acceptable. Amazon's price seems too high.
It seems to work fine with the typical Windows 7 applications such as Offices, IE, FireFox and so on. I can also run 2 of my most important (anti-virus) software, which does not seem to slow down the system. I am not a gamer as I am too old. I also do not edit films. So, this PC is fast enough for me. But I have been working on device drivers, boot loader bringup, and Linux kernel on other architectures. So, I think I know a little bit about system level issues.
The graphics is a little weak. But that is OK. It still works for production software. You get what you pay for. My friend told me 3D video will be ready soon. So, I may buy a 3D-ready graphic card in the future.
The main memory is more than enough for me now. Typically it uses 2 GB or less. There are 4 GB usually unused. It claims to support up to 16GB. But this assumes there will be 4 GB DDR2 memory. I have not checked stores to see if there is 4GB DDR2 available or not, as I have no need to add more memory soon. I used to have a slow PC with 512MB and it constantly thrashes. That is why I bought this PC.
The bottle neck is apparently my DSL line at home, which is only 6 mbps downstream. I worked on ISDN BRI and DSL device drivers before. If you need to get some data through your DSL, your PC will have to wait, no matter how cheap the PC is (assuming there is enough memory).
Typically, the CPU is less than 50% busy. Sometimes, it is even less than 10% busy. I can tell my money is not at work. So, I installed Sun's VirtualBox on this PC to see if I can keep the CPU busy and use more memory. Then I installed OpenSolaris, PC-BSD, ubuntu, Fedora and so on on top of the VirtualBox. The problem with ubuntu over VirtualBox over Windows 7 are:
1. When I try to update the software, it seems to receive very few packets, then stop. It can not receive all the requires (100+) packages in one shot. I tried similar configuration in my office (with a different Intel-based PC running Windows XP) and the problem does not happen.
2. When I tried to run 'compiz' (a cool window manage on Linux), it somehow does not work.
Overall, I think it is a good PC. It is not super fast as there is no layer 3 cache. But it is fast enough and I do not have to keep waiting and curse the old PC as before. I expect to use it for several years.

Several reviewers here and elsewhere have rated this computer low because of blue screen crashes when transferring large files to an external USB drive. That problem appears to have been resolved with a Windows Update installed automatically (if your computer is set up to automatically install updates) on January 28, 2010. If you did not get that update, you can download the fix [...].
I own this computer. With that fix in place, it is good piece of hardware - particularly for the price.

When ordered I this computer for my brother(at $100 less than HP's website), I was notified it would arrive sometime from Jan. 8th to the 20th. Amazon moved the date up two different times. It ended up arriving on Dec, 24th, just in time for Christmas! He was very happy to say the least. It arrived undamaged and in working order. Now, if someone could have been sent with it to set it up... ;<) This experience has stoked my juices for a new PC. Guess the first place I'll check.

First of all, regarding the other reviews that cite a problem with large data transfers to external USB devices, it was a problem, and a known problem. Microsoft has since created a service pack to address and fix the issue. Go to HP Support and download/install the 'Microsoft Host Controller Driver Update' update. You can find it by searching on 'Pavilion 6210f' under 'Software and Drivers'. The file name is 'sp44620.exe'.
Other than that minor glitch (and the inconvenience of those who had to suffer through it), this is a great PC. It is very quick and has a ton of RAM (6 gigs) and HDD space (600 gigs). NOTE: some configurations of this PC come with less RAM and HDD, so make sure you check the specs before buying. Also has surround sound and a decent video card.
The other thing I like about it is that it is very quiet... probably the quietest PC I've ever had.
Overall I'm quite happy with it and would recommend it to anyone. It's loaded and only cost me $500.
